My sweet team visiting the city nearby!!

After a LONG night of traveling, 15 to be exact, we finally arrived in Costa Rica. I’ve been preparing for the World Race since May-ish??? of last year so it’s not like I didn’t have time to prepare. I was ready… or at least I thought i was. As soon as we got through the final customs check with our big packs and stepped outside, I was taken back. I probably looked like a deer caught in head lights. We were really here. We were in Costa Rica. As soon as we got on the bus, I was in awe of the raw beauty that I had never experienced and in anticipation of what was to come. But I was in shock, i kept asking myself how the heck I got myself into this, if I was ready, but it was time. 

Of course we had to take a bus ride to our ministry site which was 3 hours but throughout it, i got to see the most wonderful scenery, and have tender talks with a squad-mate. 

We were greeted at the church with warm smiles, decorations and the most delicious food! We’re sleeping here for the next month and a half and beginning ministry officially on Tuesday! These last few days, we’ve gotten to get to know our hosts, get situated and prepared for the week to come! We’ve also gotten to go into town which is GORGEOUS!
